Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own perspectives, feelings, and roles. By compassionately getting to know these parts and connecting with your core Self, you can heal past wounds and create more harmony within. At BETC, IFS often includes guided imagery, somatic awareness, and nature-based practices to support deep internal connection.
What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?
AEDP stands for Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. It’s a healing-oriented therapy model that focuses on creating safety in the therapeutic relationship, gently processing emotional experiences, and unlocking the body’s natural capacity to heal. AEDP works with emotion, attachment, and transformational experiences in real time—often leading to lasting shifts rather than surface-level symptom management.
What is AEDP?
Yes. BETC accepts Blue Cross of Idaho for IEC sessions (Individual Experiential Counseling). Other services, such as ceremony and rites of passage consultation or organizational retreats, are not billed through insurance.
Do you take insurance?
Counseling is a clinical service provided by a licensed mental health professional. It involves assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention, and can often be billed to insurance.
Non-clinical consultation (such as ceremony & rites of passage work, mentorship, or organizational consulting) is focused on personal growth, meaning-making, and guidance through transitions. These services are not considered mental health treatment, are not covered by insurance, and are typically time-limited.
What’s the difference between counseling and non-clinical consultation?
No. While many offerings happen in nature, I also offer indoor, telehealth, and hybrid options. Nature is a co-facilitator, not a requirement.
Are sessions always outdoors?
Yes! We offer custom workshops, retreats, and therapeutic experiences tailored to your group’s goals. Learn more about workshops or adventure counseling.
