Group Adventure-Based Counseling is designed around you. Whether you are a couple working through life challenges, a family navigating conflict or transition, working teams wanting stronger communication, or an organized community hoping to deepen connection and collective healing, each Adventure is crafted to meet your needs. Drawing on my background as a professional climbing guide and outdoor educator and my experience as a Counselor and Certified Clinical Adventure Therapist, I create outdoor adventures that invite growth, healing, and real-world transformation.
This can vary from a day in the park to multi-day expeditions and everything in between.
Each program can be short-term and highly focused, or designed as a series—always tailored to your unique needs.
Playful group challenges that reveal new ways of relating and supporting each other.
Canoeing, hiking, or camping experiences that reconnect groups with nature and one another.
Team-building initiatives in city parks to strengthen cooperation and problem-solving.
Climbing sessions with Idaho Mountain Guides to explore trust, courage, and communication.
Collaboration and Support: Healing happens through connection, teamwork, and shared success.
Metaphorical Transfer: What happens on the trail, up a rock wall, or in the water holds a mirror up to our more routine lives, and provides access to patterns, beliefs, and feelings that might not have been reachable without the presence of the adventure.
Challenge and Growth: Activities are designed to stretch comfort zones, uncover patterns, and make the unconscious, conscious.
Experiential Learning: Lessons are applied and integrated in the moment, not just discussed.
Custom adventure counseling is for groups who want to experience growth in a way that is embodied, relational, and memorable.
Coworkers or leadership teams aiming to strengthen collaboration.
Families navigating conflict, transition, or communication breakdowns.
Couples wanting to build trust and connection.
Athletic teams or classrooms hoping to deepen group resilience and trust.
Therapeutic programs wanting to provide experiential intensives for their participants.
"This opportunity was a dream brought to fruition, the intention being to expose my students to a bit of wilderness orienteering, a bit of navigational star lore, a bit of what it might feel like to be finding one's way through small-scale adversity, and overall to the camaraderie of their class community.
Every step of the way was shepherded by our unflappable guide, whose practical wisdom and kindly humor eased the way. Ali set each student up for success, and managed to share her skill in such a way that we all grew through the experience."
